ABU DHABI CORNICHE

Redefining a city's edge on the Arabian Gulf.

A stretch of land five-kilometers long was added to the top of Abu Dhabi City to form a very prominent Corniche and waterfront park along the Arabian Coastline. Abu Dhabi Corniche was conceptualized to celebrate the water and promote a strong visual experience between people and the water’s edge. The undulating shape evokes this interaction and the connection between the urban landscape and the natural Gulf systems. Strategic connections to the city’s downtown were developed to promote easy access to this celebrated waterfront park. The park was programmed to accomodate family, cultural and civic activities. LANDinc was the design specialist on a Parsons International lead team.
