LOCK EIGHT SKATEPARK
Ships Shape Skatepark!
Ships like small towns pass by the lock8 canal park - creating a back drop and inspiration for the Port Colborne skatepark. This facility is located at the south end of a
high-profile park frequented by tourists and locals. The skatepark is located
immediately beside the Welland Canal and is themed to abstractly represent a Great Lakes Laker ship passing under a raised draw bridge. It features integral coloured concrete, a 3.3 metre high over-vert ramp, a wave track, stainless
steel copings, railings and many more features that make this one of Ontario's
largest skatepark in the region. It is the only skatepark in the world where a city backdrop can change with the movement of 10 storey tankers - only 50 meters away
